Relocating beyond Metro Vancouver? We move households anywhere in British Columbia and to Alberta, from Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey and Fraser Valley pickups in Abbotsford to Kamloops, Kelowna and the Okanagan, Vancouver Island, Northern BC, Calgary and Edmonton. One crew loads you, drives, and unloads at the other end. We don't move households beyond Alberta.

Every long-distance load is inventoried, blanket-wrapped, and secured for the highway, so nothing shifts or scratches on the way. You deal with one team and one point of contact from start to finish.

The 3-Step Process

Long-distance does not have to mean complicated.

1. Call or request a quote

Tell us your origin, destination, and home size at 604-348-7640. We build mileage and labour into one honest quote.

2. We confirm the route and price

We schedule your load and delivery window and lock the price in writing before we start.

3. We load, drive, and deliver

We secure your belongings, make the drive, and unload at your new place — for the price we quoted.

Transparent Pricing Guarantee

Long-distance movers love to spring fuel surcharges and per-kilometre add-ons at the end. We fold mileage into the quote up front, so the final invoice matches the number you approved.

Popular routes from Metro Vancouver

Vancouver to Kelowna and the Okanagan

The usual road route to Kelowna and West Kelowna is the Coquihalla (Highway 5) and then the Okanagan Connector (Highway 97C). We also move to Vernon, Penticton and the rest of the Okanagan.

Vancouver to Kamloops and the Shuswap

Kamloops sits at the north end of the Coquihalla. Salmon Arm and the Shuswap are further east along the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1).

Vancouver to Vancouver Island

Moves to Victoria, Nanaimo, Parksville, Courtenay, Comox and Campbell River cross on BC Ferries.

Vancouver to Calgary

The route runs up the Coquihalla to Kamloops, then east on the Trans-Canada Highway through Revelstoke, Rogers Pass, Golden and Banff. Moves to Calgary currently run from $3,000 to $10,000, depending on the size of your home and the distance.

Vancouver to Edmonton

One common route is the Yellowhead: the Coquihalla to Kamloops, Highway 5 north to Tête Jaune Cache, then Highway 16 through Jasper. We also move to Red Deer and other Alberta towns.

Northern BC and the Kootenays

Prince George, Quesnel and Williams Lake are up the Cariboo Highway (Highway 97). We also move to Nelson, Castlegar and Cranbrook, to the Sea-to-Sky (Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton) and to the Sunshine Coast (Gibsons, Sechelt).

Not on the list? Call us; if it is in BC or Alberta, we can quote it. For road conditions on any of these routes, check DriveBC.

How long-distance pricing works

Moves within BC currently run from $2,000 to $9,000, and moves to Alberta from $3,000 to $10,000. Every quote is built from:

  • the size of your home and how much is moving
  • the distance and drive time between the two addresses
  • whether you want packing help

Stairs, elevators and long carries never change the price. Mileage and fuel are built into the quote, and there is no per-kilometre charge added at the end.

One crew, start to finish

With many long-distance movers, your belongings are loaded by one crew, stored or transferred, and delivered by another. We load, drive, and unload with the same team, so the people who packed your truck are the ones who unpack it.

Moving in winter

Winter tires or chains are required on most BC highways from October 1 to April 30. On some routes that don't cross mountain passes or high-snowfall areas, the requirement ends March 31. If you're driving your own car to your new home, have it ready before moving day (Province of BC, checked 5 October 2026).

Moving to Alberta: your licence and car

Once you live in Alberta, you have 90 days to exchange your BC driver's licence for an Alberta one, with no knowledge or road test for a licence from another province, and 90 days to register your vehicle in Alberta (exchange a licence and register a vehicle, Government of Alberta, checked 5 October 2026).

Preparing for a long-distance move

  • Book early, especially for end-of-month dates, when demand peaks.
  • If you live in a strata, book your elevator or loading-dock time at both buildings.
  • Pack a box of first-night essentials that travels with you, not on the truck.
  • Measure large furniture against doorways at the new place.
  • If you need to cancel, the deposit isn't refunded, but it can be moved to a new date.

How much do long distance movers cost from Vancouver?

Our long-distance moves within BC currently range from $2,000 to $9,000, depending on home size, distance and packing help. Moves to Alberta run from $3,000 to $10,000. Mileage and fuel are included in the quote, so the price we confirm is the price you pay.

Do you move from Vancouver to Kelowna, Kamloops or Vancouver Island?

Yes. We move anywhere in BC, including the Okanagan, Kamloops, Vancouver Island, the Kootenays, and Northern BC. Call 604-348-7640 with your origin, destination, and home size for a quote.

Yes. We move households from Metro Vancouver to Alberta, including Calgary, Edmonton, and Red Deer. Alberta moves currently run from $3,000 to $10,000, depending on the size of the home and the distance.

Is there a charge per kilometre?

No. We fold mileage and fuel into one upfront quote instead of adding per-kilometre or fuel surcharges at the end.

Yes. The crew that loads your truck drives it and unloads at your new home. Your belongings are not transferred to another company or truck on the way.

Do you move outside BC and Alberta?

Yes. The Government of Alberta gives new residents 90 days to exchange a BC driver's licence for an Alberta one, with no knowledge or road test for a licence from another province, and 90 days to register their vehicle in Alberta (checked 5 October 2026).
