Why electronics can't go in the garbage
Electronics are a banned material at Metro Vancouver facilities. One in a garbage load brings a minimum $80 surcharge, plus any clean-up cost (Metro Vancouver Disposal Ban Program, checked 30 September 2026).
Taking it in yourself
BC's electronics recycling program, run by the Electronic Products Recycling Association, takes computers, TVs, monitors, printers and phones at its drop-off locations (what the program accepts, checked 30 September 2026). If you would rather not load the car, or there is an office's worth of it, we pick it up.
