Moving in Abbotsford usually means a family home with a suite, a townhouse or condo, or a farm or acreage in the Agricultural Land Reserve. We plan for both units of a house with a suite, for elevator and loading-bay bookings with your strata or landlord, and for long driveways and outbuildings on rural properties. Locally owned, with better labour prices than the big franchises, no hidden fees, and we answer our own phones.
Abbotsford is the largest municipality in British Columbia by area, and about 72% of its land is in the Agricultural Land Reserve. In the 2021 Census, 37% of its homes were single-detached houses, 27% were in low-rise apartment buildings and 21% were apartments or flats in a duplex, the Census term for one of two homes stacked one above the other, like a main floor with a suite below. About 31% of households rent.
Moves here are often larger homes with garages and sheds, and many are longer moves, either in from Metro Vancouver or out along Highway 1 to the Interior. For those, we plan loading, drive time and delivery together, so there are no surprises at the other end.
Family homes with suites. One Abbotsford home in five is a main floor or a suite in a two-unit house. Tell us whether both units are moving, and what's in the garage and the shed.
Townhouses, condos and apartments. Book the elevator or loading bay with your strata or landlord, then send us the window. These buildings are outside City garbage collection, so anything you're not taking needs its own plan; we can haul it away in the same booking.
Farms and acreages. Most of Abbotsford's land is farmland, and those properties come with barns, workshops and outbuildings. Tell us how far they are from where the truck can park, and whether the lane is gravel.

As a rough guide, a one-bedroom move takes 3 to 4 hours, a two-bedroom 4 to 6 hours and a three-bedroom 6 to 9 hours. If you need to cancel a booked move, the deposit isn't refunded, but it can be moved to a new date.
Condo moves: you book the elevator and loading bay with your building. If your strata charges a fee for the move, BC's Strata Property Regulation allows a fee for using common property only when it is reasonable and set out in a bylaw or a ratified rule (section 6.9, checked 1 October 2026).
Abbotsford doesn't allow parking within 1.5 metres of either side of a driveway, or on a sidewalk or boulevard. In a cul-de-sac, cars have to park parallel to the curb, and the City notes that many cul-de-sacs aren't designed for street parking at all, so clear space in your driveway for the truck if you can.
In Historic Downtown, street parking is time-limited (15 minutes, 2 hours or 3 hours, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily), with a few 15-minute loading zones; for a downtown suite, tell us the nearest side street or lane.
After a snowfall, the City clears arterial roads, transit routes, school zones and the main access to hillside areas first, and local streets third, so a hillside or cul-de-sac move may have to wait until the street is clear.
Many Abbotsford moves are longer ones: in from Metro Vancouver, or out along Highway 1 to the Interior. We plan loading, drive time and delivery together. Local moves within Abbotsford, or across the river to Mission, are priced by the size of the home, as the table above shows.
We move households within BC and to Alberta. Long-distance moves within BC currently run $2,000 to $9,000, and moves to Alberta $3,000 to $10,000, depending on the size of the home and the distance.
