A renovation leaves more debris than anyone expects. We haul renovation and construction waste across Metro Vancouver: tile, lumber, flooring, old cabinets, and fixtures such as toilets and sinks. This is debris removal, not cleaning. We load it, take it away, and sweep the spot where the pile sat.
Drywall and asbestos are the two things we don't take. Here's where each one goes instead.

Something else from the reno, like a bathtub, countertop, carpet, or old doors? Ask us when you book. Loads are sorted so what can be recycled is, and the rest is disposed of to code.
What we don't take, and where it goes
Drywall. We don't haul it. If it came out of your own home, Metro Vancouver's used-drywall program takes it at its recycling and waste centres and at the Vancouver Landfill in Delta. It has to be double-bagged, with a limit of ten 10 kg bags per visit and five visits a year. Drywall from contractors and businesses isn't accepted under the program, so a contractor needs a drywall recycler (Metro Vancouver Used Gypsum Disposal Program). The City of Vancouver's transfer station doesn't take used residential drywall either. Drywall can't go out with garbage: Metro Vancouver lists it as a restricted material with its own rate (Disposal Ban Program Manual).
Asbestos. Metro Vancouver warns that drywall installed before 1990 may contain asbestos in the tape and mud. WorkSafeBC says asbestos was widely used in B.C. as a building material until the early 1990s, that homeowners need their home tested before renovating, and that only qualified professionals can remove it (WorkSafeBC: asbestos). We don't take asbestos or anything suspected of containing it. If your home is older, get the test done before demolition starts.
Paint and chemicals. Leftover paint, solvents, and other hazardous materials are set aside, not loaded.

How a renovation pickup works
1. Tell us what's in the pile
Call 604-348-7640 or use the quote form. Mention anything heavy, like a lot of tile, and where the pile is: garage, driveway, basement, or yard.
2. Keep drywall separate
Stack drywall apart from the rest so the load can be quoted and hauled cleanly. Leave anything you suspect contains asbestos untouched.
3. We load, haul, and sweep
The crew confirms the price before loading, takes everything we can accept, and sweeps up. You pay the price we confirmed.

Can I take drywall to the Vancouver Landfill?
