Most White Rock moves are condos and low-rise apartments, many near the beach, plus houses on the steep streets up the hill. Parts of the city are signed permit parking only, so where the truck can stop is the first thing we plan. Locally owned, with better labour prices than the big franchises, no hidden fees, and we answer our own phones.
White Rock is small, about 5 square kilometres and 22,000 people, and most of its homes are apartments. In the 2021 Census, 41% of White Rock homes were in low-rise apartment buildings and 15% in buildings of five or more storeys, while 24% were single-detached houses. 35% of households rent, and about 3,200 residents had moved in the year before.
Much of the city is hill. It rises from the beach on Semiahmoo Bay and the Waterfront along Marine Drive up to Uptown, and many homes sit on steep lots with long stairs down to the street. Condos near the beach have little loading space, so we check access before moving day. Downsizing moves are common here.
Houses on the hill. Many detached homes sit on sloping lots with long stairs between the house and the street. There's no extra charge for the stairs; tell us how many there are so we size the crew for the carry.
Condos near the beach. Buildings near Marine Drive and in the Town Centre have little loading space. Book the elevator or loading bay with your strata, then send us the window.
Downsizing. Moving from a house on the hill to a condo? We move what's going and can haul away what isn't in the same booking.

As a rough guide, a one-bedroom move takes 3 to 4 hours, a two-bedroom 4 to 6 hours and a three-bedroom 6 to 9 hours. If you need to cancel a booked move, the deposit isn't refunded, but it can be moved to a new date.
Condo moves: you book the elevator and loading bay with your building. If your strata charges a fee for the move, BC's Strata Property Regulation allows a fee for using common property only when it is reasonable and set out in a bylaw or a ratified rule (section 6.9, checked 1 October 2026).
Parts of White Rock are signed Permit Parking Only. A resident permit is good only on the block printed on it and the next block, vehicles without one can be ticketed or towed, and no vehicle may stay on City property for 72 consecutive hours. The Waterfront, Peace Arch Hospital and Centennial Arena areas are pay parking. Tell us if your street is signed, so we can plan where the truck stops.
Closing part of a road or sidewalk needs a City Road Use Permit, requested by email to engpermits@whiterockcity.ca.
When it snows, the City clears major roads, emergency routes and bus routes first, and it barricades steep hills such as Oxford Street when they become dangerous, so a hillside move may have to wait until the street reopens.
White Rock sits beside South Surrey, so moves into Surrey and Langley are short, and Highway 99 runs north toward the George Massey Tunnel and Vancouver. Local moves are priced by the size of the home, as the table above shows, with no travel fee.
We also move households within BC and to Alberta. Long-distance moves within BC currently run $2,000 to $9,000, and moves to Alberta $3,000 to $10,000, depending on the size of the home and the distance.

Questions
From a hillside house with long stairs to a beach condo, the price depends on the size of the home, not the stairs. A studio or one-bedroom move is a flat $599, and a 20% deposit ($120) books the date. Two-bedroom homes run $800 to $1,400 and three-bedroom homes $1,200 to $2,000; hourly moves are $120 to $180 an hour for 2 movers and a truck. There is no travel fee.
Permit Parking Only areas are for vehicles showing a resident permit, and others can be ticketed or towed. Tell us if your street is signed so we plan where the truck stops; closing part of a road or sidewalk needs the City's Road Use Permit.
No. Long stairs and steep lots never change the price. Tell us how many stairs there are so we send enough movers.
Yes. We do seniors' moves and downsizing, and we can haul away what isn't coming in the same booking.
Yes. Long-distance moves within BC currently run $2,000 to $9,000, and moves to Alberta $3,000 to $10,000, depending on the size of the home and the distance. We don't move households beyond Alberta.
