Coquitlam moves split between hillside houses and towers. On the hills, steep driveways and stairs set the pace; in the towers, it's the elevator booking. Trucks longer than 6.5 metres can't park on city streets overnight, so we load and leave during the day. Locally owned, with better labour prices than the big franchises, no hidden fees, and we answer our own phones.
Coquitlam moves split between the hills and the towers. In the 2021 Census, 35% of Coquitlam homes were single-detached houses, 21% were in low-rise apartment buildings and 15% in buildings of five or more storeys. About 31% of households rent, and nearly 20,000 residents had moved in the year before.
Down on the flats, City Centre around Lafarge Lake and Burquitlam along the Evergreen Line are newer towers with proper loading bays. Up on Westwood Plateau and Burke Mountain, it's large hillside houses with steep driveways and long stair runs, often with the garage at street level and the living space below.
Hillside houses. On Westwood Plateau, Burke Mountain, Harbour Chines and parts of Eagle Ridge, driveways are genuinely steep, and many houses put the garage at street level with the living space below, so furniture comes up a flight to reach the truck. There's no extra charge for any of it; tell us the layout so we send the right number of movers.
Towers. City Centre and Burquitlam buildings are recent enough that access is usually well designed; the constraint is the booking. Book the elevator and loading bay, and give us the window and the underground clearance.
Older streets. Maillardville and Austin Heights have narrower streets and lanes than the newer parts of the city, and on-street parking can be tight.

As a rough guide, a one-bedroom move takes 3 to 4 hours, a two-bedroom 4 to 6 hours and a three-bedroom 6 to 9 hours. If you need to cancel a booked move, the deposit isn't refunded, but it can be moved to a new date.
Condo moves: you book the elevator and loading bay with your building. If your strata charges a fee for the move, BC's Strata Property Regulation allows a fee for using common property only when it is reasonable and set out in a bylaw or a ratified rule (section 6.9, checked 1 October 2026).
Coquitlam's street rules shape moving day. Outside industrial areas, vehicles longer than 6.5 metres can't park on a city street between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. unless the City has given special permission, so a moving truck loads during the day and leaves.
Where parking is signed as restricted, a vehicle may stop for up to five minutes while actively loading or unloading; in a marked loading zone, the limit for loading materials is 30 minutes. Streets narrower than 6 metres between the curbs are no-stopping, and nobody may park on the boulevard. Questions go to the City's Engineering and Public Works line, 604-927-3500.
Coquitlam sits beside Port Coquitlam and Port Moody, with Burnaby and New Westminster to the west, so most local moves are short. They're priced by the size of the home, as the table above shows, with no travel fee.
Highway 1 runs through the city toward the Fraser Valley and the Interior, and we move households within BC and to Alberta. Long-distance moves within BC currently run $2,000 to $9,000, and moves to Alberta $3,000 to $10,000, depending on the size of the home and the distance.

Questions
A Westwood Plateau house and a City Centre condo are both priced by the size of the home, not the hill. A studio or one-bedroom move is a flat $599, and a 20% deposit ($120) books the date. Two-bedroom homes run $800 to $1,400 and three-bedroom homes $1,200 to $2,000; hourly moves are $120 to $180 an hour for 2 movers and a truck. There is no travel fee.
No. Steep driveways, long stairs and living space below the garage never change the price. Tell us the layout and we plan the crew for it.
Not outside industrial areas. Coquitlam doesn't allow vehicles longer than 6.5 metres to park on its streets between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. without the City's special permission, so the truck loads during the day.
You do. Book the elevator and loading bay with your building, then send us the window and the underground clearance.
Yes. Long-distance moves within BC currently run $2,000 to $9,000, and moves to Alberta $3,000 to $10,000, depending on the size of the home and the distance. We don't move households beyond Alberta.
