North Vancouver moves come in two kinds: apartments and condos around Lonsdale in the City, and hillside houses across the District from Capilano to Deep Cove. Steep driveways, long stair runs and wet weather shape the day, and reserving street parking in the City takes a permit applied for 10 business days ahead. Locally owned, with better labour prices than the big franchises, no hidden fees, and we answer our own phones.
North Vancouver is two municipalities. In the 2021 Census, the City of North Vancouver around Lonsdale was mostly apartments: 38% of its homes were in low-rise buildings and 29% in buildings of five or more storeys, and 47% of households rented. The District, which wraps around it from Capilano to Deep Cove, was mostly houses: 49% single-detached and another 18% apartments or flats in a duplex, with 24% of households renting. Across the two, about 20,500 residents had moved in the year before.
Moves here start with the hill. Many homes are built into the slope, with the front door at the top and the living space below, so furniture comes up to reach the truck. And anything leaving the North Shore crosses the Lions Gate or the Ironworkers Memorial bridge.
Hillside houses. Steep driveways, homes built down the slope and long inside stair runs are normal here. When the truck is above the furniture, everything comes up rather than out. There's no extra charge for it; tell us the layout and we plan the crew around it.
Condos. Lower Lonsdale and Shipyards towers work to your elevator and loading-bay booking. Book it and send us the window.
Walk-ups. Some of Lonsdale's older apartment buildings have no elevator. Tell us the floor.
Wet weather. The North Shore gets more rain than the rest of the region, and a steep driveway in November is a different job from the same driveway in August. We plan for it.

As a rough guide, a one-bedroom move takes 3 to 4 hours, a two-bedroom 4 to 6 hours and a three-bedroom 6 to 9 hours. If you need to cancel a booked move, the deposit isn't refunded, but it can be moved to a new date.
Condo moves: you book the elevator and loading bay with your building. If your strata charges a fee for the move, BC's Strata Property Regulation allows a fee for using common property only when it is reasonable and set out in a bylaw or a ratified rule (section 6.9, checked 1 October 2026).
City of North Vancouver. To reserve parking for a large moving truck, the City issues a Temporary Street Use Permit. The application, with payment, has to be in 10 full business days before the permit starts, and reserving on-street parking carries a minimum $100 signage charge. On a street with plenty of parking, you can choose not to reserve. The City's street-use line is 604-983-7333.
District of North Vancouver. The District's temporary street use permit needs at least 7 business days' notice. Signs to reserve or clear parking are $50 each, with a $100 minimum, and the District asks for a map, proof of $5 million liability insurance naming it as an additional insured, and a District business licence where applicable. Transportation Engineering is on 604-990-2450.
In Deep Cove, tell us where a truck can legally stop, and consider a weekday outside summer.
Anything leaving the North Shore crosses the Lions Gate or the Ironworkers Memorial bridge, and peak crossings are slow, so timing affects how long an hourly move takes, not the price. Moves to West Vancouver stay on this side of the water. Local moves are priced by the size of the home, as the table above shows, with no travel fee.
We also move households within BC and to Alberta. Long-distance moves within BC currently run $2,000 to $9,000, and moves to Alberta $3,000 to $10,000, depending on the size of the home and the distance.

Questions
Whether it's a Lonsdale condo or a Lynn Valley house built down the slope, the price depends on the size of the home. A studio or one-bedroom move is a flat $599, and a 20% deposit ($120) books the date. Two-bedroom homes run $800 to $1,400 and three-bedroom homes $1,200 to $2,000; hourly moves are $120 to $180 an hour for 2 movers and a truck. There is no travel fee.
Only if you want parking reserved. In the City of North Vancouver, the Temporary Street Use Permit needs 10 full business days and carries a minimum $100 signage charge; in the District, the street use permit needs at least 7 business days' notice. On a street with plenty of parking, you may not need one.
No. Homes built down the slope, steep driveways and long stairs never change the price. Tell us the layout so we send enough movers.
The rate doesn't change. Peak crossings on the Lions Gate and Ironworkers Memorial bridges are slow, so timing can change how long an hourly move takes; if you're flexible, we plan around them.
Yes. Long-distance moves within BC currently run $2,000 to $9,000, and moves to Alberta $3,000 to $10,000, depending on the size of the home and the distance. We don't move households beyond Alberta.
