Movers in Maple Ridge, BC

Moving in Maple Ridge usually means a house on a larger lot, a townhouse or a suite; more than half the homes are single-detached. Street parking is first come, first served, so we plan where the truck can stop, and how far the carry is from there. Moving in Maple Ridge: what to know

Maple Ridge is mostly houses. In the 2021 Census, 53% of its homes were single-detached houses, 13% row houses and another 13% apartments or flats in a duplex, the Census term for one of two homes stacked one above the other, like a main floor with a suite below. Only about one household in five rents (21%).

Moves here range from homes near the town centre to larger lots in Albion, Silver Valley and Whonnock, where long driveways, sheds and outbuildings are common. Tell us about gravel access and what's in the shed or garage when you book, so we bring the right truck and crew.

Homes and buildings: moving day in Maple Ridge

Houses on larger lots. In Albion, Silver Valley and Whonnock, driveways can be long or gravel, and sheds and outbuildings fill up. Tell us how far they are from where the truck can park.

Townhouses and suites. About a quarter of Maple Ridge homes are row houses or a main floor or suite in a two-unit house. In a complex, ask the strata where a moving truck can stop; in a house with a suite, tell us whether both units are moving.

Downsizing. Moving to something smaller? We move what's going and can haul away what isn't in the same booking.

What every Maple Ridge move includes

  • Moving blankets and plastic wrap for furniture, dollies and straps for heavy pieces, and floor protection.
  • Beds, tables and other furniture taken apart where needed and put back together at the new place.
  • A crew sized to your home: usually 2 movers for a studio or one-bedroom, 3 for two or three bedrooms, and 4 for larger homes.
  • No travel fee, and no extra charge for stairs, a long carry or a building without an elevator.
  • Moves 7 days a week. A few days' notice is usually enough.
  • Boxes and supplies for sale: cardboard and wardrobe boxes, mattress and TV covers, tape, packing paper and bubble wrap.
  • Storage if there's a gap between moving out and moving in.
  • Anything you're not taking hauled away in the same booking.

As a rough guide, a one-bedroom move takes 3 to 4 hours, a two-bedroom 4 to 6 hours and a three-bedroom 6 to 9 hours. If you need to cancel a booked move, the deposit isn't refunded, but it can be moved to a new date.

Condo moves: you book the elevator and loading bay with your building. If your strata charges a fee for the move, BC's Strata Property Regulation allows a fee for using common property only when it is reasonable and set out in a bylaw or a ratified rule (section 6.9, checked 1 October 2026).

Parking the moving truck in Maple Ridge

Maple Ridge street parking is first come, first served, and anyone may legally park on a residential street unless it's signed otherwise. A vehicle can't stay in the same spot on a public street for more than 72 hours, and nobody may park within 3 metres of a driveway. Signed restrictions apply all year, statutory holidays included, and a break for a driveway or back lane doesn't end a restricted zone; it ends at the next intersection or a one-way arrow on the sign.

So on most residential streets, the truck parks legally at the curb. Tell us if your street is signed, or if the only spot is close to a neighbour's driveway.

Before moving day in Maple Ridge

  • Tell us about long or gravel driveways and how far the shed or garage is from where the truck can stop.
  • Check your street's signs: a restricted zone runs past driveways and lanes until the next intersection.
  • Moving boxes go in Recycle BC's yellow bag for paper and cardboard; the City doesn't collect recycling itself.
  • The City doesn't run garbage collection; residents arrange their own. For things you're not moving, the Maple Ridge Recycling Depot on 236th Street takes electronics, appliances, textiles and scrap metal free, or we can haul it away in the same booking.
  • In a townhouse complex, ask the strata where a moving truck may stop.

Moving to or from Maple Ridge

Maple Ridge sits along the Lougheed Highway east of Pitt Meadows, and the Golden Ears Bridge crosses the Fraser to Langley and Surrey, so we plan around bridge and highway traffic for moves to and from the rest of the region. Local moves are priced by the size of the home, as the table above shows, with no travel fee.

We also move households within BC and to Alberta. Long-distance moves within BC currently run $2,000 to $9,000, and moves to Alberta $3,000 to $10,000, depending on the size of the home and the distance.

Questions

Straight answers

How much do movers cost in Maple Ridge?

From a town-centre home to a larger lot in Albion or Whonnock, the price depends on the size of the home. A studio or one-bedroom move is a flat $599, and a 20% deposit ($120) books the date. Two-bedroom homes run $800 to $1,400 and three-bedroom homes $1,200 to $2,000; hourly moves are $120 to $180 an hour for 2 movers and a truck. There is no travel fee.

Can a moving truck park on my Maple Ridge street?

Usually, yes. Anyone may legally park on a residential street unless it's signed otherwise, as long as the vehicle isn't within 3 metres of a driveway and doesn't stay more than 72 hours. Signed restrictions run past driveways and lanes to the next intersection.

Do you move rural properties with long driveways in Maple Ridge?

Yes. Tell us about gravel access and how far the shed or outbuildings are from where the truck can park, so we bring the right truck and crew.

Where do moving boxes go in Maple Ridge?

In Recycle BC's yellow bag for paper and cardboard, which is collected at the curb. The City doesn't collect recycling or garbage itself.

Do you move from Maple Ridge to the Interior or Alberta?

Yes. Long-distance moves within BC currently run $2,000 to $9,000, and moves to Alberta $3,000 to $10,000, depending on the size of the home and the distance. We don't move households beyond Alberta.
