Free Appliance Pickup in Metro Vancouver

Old appliances are heavy, awkward, and tricky to dispose of legally. Our appliance removal and hauling is free: we pick up fridges, freezers, washers, dryers, stoves, and dishwashers for free across Metro Vancouver — working or broken, in any condition — from Steveston in Richmond to Burquitlam in Coquitlam and Albion in Maple Ridge.

We carry the appliance out and load it. Working appliances are sometimes donated; the rest are recycled, with cooling units routed through refrigerant-compliant recycling, not the landfill. Everything is handled to Metro Vancouver and provincial standards.

Our crew carries the appliance out, loads it, and sends it on to be donated or recycled. There is nothing to pay.

Working, broken, old, or dented — the condition does not matter. There is no minimum number of appliances and no extra charge for stairs: it is free.

Where your appliance goes

If it still works, we sometimes donate it; we can't promise that for any particular appliance. Everything else goes to a collection site in BC's provincial large-appliance recycling program, run by MARR (the Major Appliance Recycling Roundtable), or to a Metro Vancouver recycling and waste centre. Under the program's government-approved plan, the refrigerant in fridges and freezers is removed by a certified technician (MARR plan, approved June 2025).

Appliance disposal rules in Metro Vancouver

• Not in the garbage. Metal household appliances are banned from garbage loads at Metro Vancouver facilities. One in a garbage load brings a minimum $80 surcharge, plus any clean-up cost (Metro Vancouver Disposal Ban Program).
• Refrigerant first. If a fridge, freezer or air conditioner uses a regulated refrigerant (a CFC, HCFC or HFC), it can't be dismantled, broken up or abandoned until the refrigerant has been recovered with approved equipment, unless the unit goes to a site in a refrigerant-removal program (BC Ozone Depleting Substances and Other Halocarbons Regulation, ss. 3 and 15).
• Free drop-off if you haul it yourself. MARR collection sites across Metro Vancouver take large appliances at no charge (MARR collection sites). If you'd rather not move it, our pickup is free too.

Before we arrive

Our crew unplugs the appliance and disconnects and caps water lines for fridges and washers. Gas stoves and dryers need the gas disconnected by a qualified technician before pickup.
